This is our newest exciting ministry, starting with 3 now we are regularly having 18-20kids every Sunday. This started like a meet-up with one of our members by the bridge at the nearby Gaisano Country Mall, and turned-up to be a feeding body and soul kind of meet-ups at church. Kids are from 5-18 years old, and these are literally street kids who are usually seen shabby, sniffing rugby in a plastic, singing and begging to people down the streets of Cebu City. At first they were shy (felt strange being fed and befriended) later on they were comfortable with us and grew by number every Sunday. It is awesome seeing them joyfully and willingly learning the action songs. They even know some Christian action songs too! They are such a blessing, and so we are happy to share with them Jesus and His everlasting love. The ministry starts at 5:00pm, now they come earlier for some bathe. We give them hair-cuts also, and some used clothings. They have action songs, bible stories, and food - and they love pictures too! ( some of them are on Facebook - what a surprise huh!) They are just so hungry, they'd ask for 2nd, 3rd or 4th cup of noodles, or porridge. Looking at them, you can see behind that hunger is also a hunger of love, and thirst for God - to know there is someone so mighty that loves and protects them all the time. Please pray for spiritual growth of these kids.

One of our exciting ministries are the Feeding Ministries. We are now on our 7th year in our fast-growing ministry from 2 sites at about 100 kids. Now, we are serving 4 Feeding Ministries with over 500kids. Kids are blessed with bibles stories, action songs, and memory verse, and then the food. They have the passion to praise and serve the Lord. Everyone loves to recite their memory verse. It is such a blessing to see how the kids never cease and is ever excited to worship and serve the Lord. Along with the food for the spirit is the delicious food they enjoy with other kids in the neighborhood. They love the variety of delicious food every week. We serve "champorado" (chocolate porridge), chicken pospas(porridge with chicken bits and spices), "binignit" (sweet porridge with sago and coconut milk), and occasionally we serve spaghetti too. All the the feeding sites enjoy the same food/flavor every week. Before and after the feeding you can see the sweet little smiles of joy and gratitude knowing they are well-loved by their "ates" (older sister) and "kuyas" (older brother) in Christ. We invite you to come and join us, and experience how exciting it is to serve the Lord.
We regularly do our evangelism during our home visitations and home bible studies. We have had several salvations in the past year and more recently. People in the neighborhood and in the squatters area fellowship with us and come to our Sunday and Cebuano Mid-week services. Ptr. Gerry leads the ministry together with the interns, they walk around and climb up the hills to share the good news.
They call themselves "Jesus Advocates" - ages 17-35 or College students to Young Professionals. This group of young people is the most active ministry we have especially in organizing activities for the church. The bulk of the projects we have are accomplished by most of these young adults who are also into 3 or more ministries.
We are a praying church, so if you have any requests just send them to us and we will pray for you. Prayer warriors are continuously growing too. We are now having a regular of 15 prayer warriors who faithfully come to pray for brothers and sisters in Christ. We have about 200 prayer requests now on our prayer list, and we will be willing to pray for you too. It is a blessing for us to know that the person we are praying for got healed or got over his/her challenges in life, or simply got the answer to his prayers.
They call themselves Women of Faith. They are combination of single women, mothers, and wives. They meet every first Sunday at 3:00pm of each month to study how it is to be women of God. They share their lives to fellow women, and get taught on how to handle challenges in a Christian way. We are now learning Proverbs 31 - being Godly Women.
MEN'S PRAYER AND ACCOUNTABILITY MINISTRY is a new ministry born from Men's Fellowship. We meet and pray every second Sunday of the month at 2:00pm. They meet every 2nd Sunday at 2:00pm to discuss how IRON sharpens IRON. |
